MANKATO, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran volleyball team (4-5 overall) advanced in the UMAC Tournament Consolation Bracket in the 3-2 win over Martin Luther (4-7) Thursday night.
The Vikings won the odd numbered sets (27-25, 25-23, 15-8) and the Knights won the even numbered sets (30-28 and 25-23).
Sophomore Alexis Morsching (Morristown, Minn.) had a career-high 20 kills to pace the team. Classmate Kasidy Cacka (Brownton, Minn.) and junior Kaylee Glomstad (Montevideo, Minn.) had 10 each to round out those in double digits.
Sophomore Cheyenne Owens (Truman, Minn.) had 53 assists and added 11 digs for a double double. Cacka had 12 digs, senior Bethany Karnopp (Albuquerque, NM) also had 12, and junior Arissa Wilson (Eyota, Minn.) had 11 to complete the team leaders.
As a team, BLC owned the advantages in kills, hitting percentage, assists, digs, service aces, and blocks.
The Vikings will host North Central in the UMAC Tournament Consolation Championship on Saturday, April 10 at 5 p.m.
