Box Score ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran baseball team (15-14 overall) narrowly fell 3-2 to St. Scholastica (19-7) Thursday to open the UMAC Tournament.
The Saints plated three in their first trip to the plate for the early lead.

In the top of the fourth, sophomore Vaughn Pouncy (St. Paul, Minn.) drove in junior Carter Wendlandt (Minneapolis) on his RBI single to make it 3-1.

In the eighth, freshman Liam Peterson (Port Orchard, Wash.) hit a solo home run over the left centerfield fence to slice the margin to one (3-2).

The Vikings will return to competition tomorrow at 4 p.m. They will face the loser of the 1 p.m. contest between host-Northwestern and UW-Superior.
