MANKATO, Minn. – Hamline University defeated Bethany Lutheran 1-0 Wednesday night in the home opener, for its first win of the season.
The game was scoreless through the first half, though the Vikings owned the slim advantage in shots at 6-4.
The Pipers netted the eventual game-winner at 63:13 as the shot found the top left corner of the goal.
With the win, Hamline extended its lead in the all-time series to 5-0, and have not conceded a goal in these meetings.
Freshman Nick Lundberg (Mankato, Minn.) made his collegiate debut in net and made two saves.
BLC returns to action Sunday on the road against Bethel at 2 p.m.
