Senior and Parent Night on Deck for Vikings

MANKATO, Minn. - The Bethany Lutheran volleyball team will host Senior Night and Parent Night this weekend while also vying for a spot in the UMAC Playoffs. The Vikings (6-15, 4-6 UMAC) will host Crown (3-18, 0-9 UMAC) on Friday at 7 p.m. for Senior Night before Minnesota-Morris (9-12, 6-4 UMAC) comes to town Saturday at 1 p.m. for Parents Night. The four senior being recognized Friday night are Madisen Borek, Rilee Hohbein, Alexis Morsching, and Sarah Strom. Bethany is currently in a tie for fourth place in the UMAC standings with Martin Luther and North Central.

Bethany Lutheran 
The Vikings are most recently coming off a 3-0 loss to UW-Superior last Saturday. Morsching put up 19 kills in the last match in which she played as she leads the team with 178 kills on the season while also boasting 229 digs. Fellow senior Hohbein has also been strong of late, posting 22 kills in her past three contests while hitting at a clip of .300. Defensively, Maddie Meyer has posted 14 block assists and six solo blocks in the past four matches while Maddi Wendland has led the team with 44 digs in that same span. Bethany has been rolling with two setters of late, with Paloma Garcia de Fuentes and Esther Peeters splitting the duties. Peeters posted a career high 32 set assists last Friday in the Vikings 3-1 win over Northland while Garcia has notched double digit assists in four of the last five matches. 

Crown
The Polars are most recently coming off a 3-1 loss to Concordia Moorhead on Tuesday. Through 22 matches they're led by Hailey Klein who has posted 129 kills while Ashley Earick has totaled 99. Shaelyn McNeil has been the teams top distributor this year with 171 set assists while Sage Johnston has a team best 189 digs.

The Series vs. Crown
The Vikings and Polars have matched up 38 times in the all-time series with Bethany being a perfect 38-0. 

Minnesota-Morris
The Cougars are most recently coming off a 3-1 win over North Central last Saturday. Through 21 matches Maggie Jones leads the team with 154 kills while also posting 70 blocks. Laura Wellbrock has also been solid on the attack, notching 140 kills while adding 132 digs. McKenzie Newton has been the teams primary setter, tallying 556 set assists, while Alyssa Ukestad has led the back row with 309 digs.

The Series vs. Minnesota-Morris
Through 34 matches the Cougars currently holding a 26-8 advantage and are riding a 24 game winning streak with the last Viking victory coming on October, 25, 2008.
