"What a great way to end the regular season, we are so proud of each and every player," said Head Coach Emma Morris. "With everybody that is healthy getting game time and a couple of new players getting on the scoreboard this season including Lucia who ends her career with us this fall. Additionally, Brooke also broke our program's clean sheet record within a season. It's been a very successful season and now we look forward to what will be a great match up in the semifinals on Wednesday. We are fired up and ready to give our all, together, and hopefully that game won't be the end of the road for us this fall."
Similarly to the men's game, the Vikings got the scoring started early with a goal in the fourth minute from Olaitz Azkue. Elena Luján Rubio then got on the scoresheet in the 11th minute off an assist from Juana Quevedo. Just three minutes later, in the 14th minute, Lucia Iglesias would then get her first goal of the season on a penalty kick to put the Vikings up 3-0. Bethany would continue to apply pressure and be rewarded in the 27th minute, as Bella Garza would get her first goal of the season with an assist to Mia Saulter. The Vikings put up 19 shots in the first 45 minutes to just three from NCU, with Brooke Wolanin posting a pair of saves in the first half.
The Vikings weren't able to find the back of the net in the second half albeit taking 10 more shots, but Wolanin made a save on the only Ram shot on goal.Â
Wolanin made three saves in total in the Vikings win to move her record to 11-6-1.Â
