Box Score CHICAGO, Ill. - The Bethany Lutheran men's basketball team on Thursday took on Moody Bible and defeated the Archers 101-41. With the win the Vikings move to 3-0 overall while the Archers fall to 0-5.
The Archers got off to a solid start in this one, keeping pace with the Vikings in the early going. Bethany led 17-15 with eight minutes remaining in the first half and eventually extended their lead to 34-25 with 4:38 remaining. The Vikings then caught fire, ending the half on a 21-0 run thanks largely in part to five threes, two of which came from Aleck Sharma.
Leading 55-25 at the break, the Vikings did nothing but add to it in the second half as they opened it on a 24-2 run and continued to add to their lead. Leading 79-27, Bethany would outscore MBI 22-14 the last eight minutes, getting four players their first collegiate points in the process.
Drew Sagedahl led the Vikings in this one, tallying 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field while Sharma was right behind him with 15. Jax Madson had 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists while Hunter Nielsen added 10 points, 6 boards, and 4 blocks.
Bethany is back in action tomorrow when they play Fontbonne at 3 p.m. at Moody Bible.
