MANKATO, Minn. – Senior Hanna Geistfeld (Truman, Minn.) was named First-team Academic All-District, selected by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA), the national organization announced today.
This marks her first career honor, and second in program history. Abby Olson was previously honored in 2020.
Geistfeld is an elementary education major with a 3.56 GPA.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
Geistfeld was the only selection from the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference. Her name will now be forwarded for Academic All-American consideration.
The Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The Division III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2021-22 Divisions III Academic All-America® programs.
