ROSEVILLE, Minn.—The Bethany Lutheran softball team (23-12 overall, 13-3 UMAC) won both games in the second day of the UMAC Crossover Tournament to move its winning streak to five. BLC defeated Crown 9-2 and Minnesota Morris 10-1 in six innings.
A highlight against Crown included an RBI triple from senior Zoe Kinakin (Victoria, British Columbia), as the Vikings jumped to a 4-0 lead in the first inning.
BLC hit four doubles in the contest.
Freshman Kaija Mork (Sioux Falls, SD) went 3-4 with two runs, a double, and an RBI.
Against the Cougars, Bethany plated two in the first and second, one in the third, and two in the fourth to build a 7-0 lead.
Minnesota Morris plated its lone run of the game in the fourth.
The Vikings tallied three more in the sixth to seal the shortened win.
Senior Eden Ambrose (Hugo, Minn.) was 3-4 with two RBIs. Freshman Kayla Senne (Northwood, Iowa) earned her 15
th win of the season in the circle.
BLC returns to competition Tuesday when it hosts Crown in a doubleheader at 3:30 p.m.
