MANKATO, Minn.—The Bethany Lutheran softball team (26-14 overall, 16-5 UMAC) fell to regular season conference champion UW-Superior (31-8, 18-3) Saturday night.
 
The Yellowjackets jumped to an early 2-0 lead in the first, and added another in the second.
 
The Vikings got on the board in the second on an RBI single from junior Elizabeth Cizek (Wheaton, Ill.).
 
UWS plated its final run in the fifth, and looked to add more insurance runs in the seventh as it had bases loaded with one out. The next two batters were retired to end the threat.
 
Senior Eden Ambrose (Hugo, Minn.) was a homerun shy of a cycle as she was 3-4.
 
Bethany returns to the field next Thursday in the UMAC Tournament. Complete tournament information to come once seeds are solidified.
