NEW ULM, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran men's basketball team rolled to a 95-61 victory over Martin Luther on Saturday afternoon. With the win the Vikings improve to 16-3 overall and 7-1 in the UMAC while the Knights fall to 2-16 overall and 0-8 in conference play.
Bethany got out to a slow start in this one, scoring just seven points in the first six minutes before a Justin Schrupp three started to help the offense find their groove. MLC would find their footing late, as each team scored 10 points in the final five minutes and Bethany led 43-22 at the half.
The Vikings would start the second half strong, going on a 17-5 run in the first five minutes capped off by a Mason Ackley dunk to give themselves a 33-point lead. From there out, Bethany would coast to the victory, outscoring the Knights 35-34 the final 14 minutes.
