MANKATO, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team hosted UW-Platteville on Tuesday night and suffered an 88-51 loss. With the loss the Vikings fall to 0-4 overall while the Pioneers move to 2-1.
Both teams came out of the gates strong in this one, as each team was firing on all cylinders early. Platteville would get out to a 7-2 lead before
Kaylee Hunter stepped behind a screen and knocked down a triple. After the Vikings would cut the lead to 12-11 a few minutes later,
Lexiss Trygg would score four straight points to put the home team up 15-12. The Pioneers would make one free throw on their ensuing possession before Trygg would finish inside again to push the lead to 17-13. UW-Platteville would close the quarter on a 6-0 run though to hold a 19-17 edge after one quarter.
In the second quarter the Pioneers would start to find their groove offensively, connecting on a few shots early to push their lead to seven. The Vikings would keep them at bay and hold the deficit around that 7-point mark until late in the half when UWP would connect on an and-one in the final minute to push their lead to 10 points headed into the half.
Through the first five minutes of the third quarter, the teams would each tally eight points to play to a 44-34 score. From there on out though, Platteville caught fire from the field. The Pioneers got points on eight of their final 10 possessions, outscoring Bethany 15-5 in that span.
UWP kept their momentum going in the fourth, shooting 12-of-18 from the field and outscoring the Vikings 29-12 in the frame to claim the 88-51 win.
Aubrea Kor led the Vikings in the loss, tallying nine points to go along with five rebounds. Trygg added eight points off the bench, while Hunter and

Bethany will be back at it on Saturday when they travel to UW-Stout for a 1 p.m. contest.
