Box Score ST. BONIFACIOUS, Minn. - The Bethany Lutheran women's soccer team Wednesday night extended their win streak to four games as they claimed a 2-0 decision over Crown. With the win the Vikings improve to 4-5 on the season and 4-1 in the UMAC while the Polars fall to 2-5-1 and 2-1-1 in the conference.
It didn't take long for the Vikings to get the scoring started in this one as
Reese Moorad would put them on the board six minutes in. She would find herself with a shot in front of the net and take a shot that was saved, but the ball deflected back out in front of the net and she would fire again and sneak one by the keeper for the 1-0 lead.Â
Each team would tally nine total shots in the first 45 minutes of play, with
Arayah Baker making all four saves needed in net to preserve the lead.Â
In the second half, the Vikings would start to pepper a few more shots on net, and it wasn't until the 76th minute that they would find the back of the net again. It was
Ashley Casper who took a clearance ball from the Polars and fired it from 30 yards out up and over the keeper's outstretched arms for the 2-0 lead.Â
Baker had a strong showing in net, making seven total saves in the clean sheet win.
The Vikings will next be in action on Sunday when they host St. Scholastica in a 1 p.m. contest.Â
