Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - The Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team Saturday afternoon posted a dominant all-around effort as they defeated Northland 101-33. With the win the Vikings imrprove to 3-12 overall and 2-2 in the UMAC, while the LumberJills fall to 0-12 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
It was a strong start from Bethany from the opening tip, as they would jump out to a 9-0 lead with four different Vikings scoring in the first two minutes. Northland would answer with a bucket but seven more from the Vikings capped off by a
Gianna Klarenbeek three would make it 16-2. Bethany would close the quarter strong though, going on a 15-4 run to lead 31-8 after one.
A strong first five minutes in the second that saw Bethany outscore Northland 16-2 put the Vikings up 47-10 midway through the quarter. Northland would score the next four but Bethany would end the frame on an 11-2 run to lead 58-16 at the break.
The final two quarters continued to be strong for the Vikings, as they would outscore the Jills 43-17 to claim the 101-33 victory.
17 different Vikings scored in the contest and it was
Arinn McGee and
Kenadi Arndt leading the way with 12 points apiece while McGee also adding eight boards.
Juliana Ewald also reached double digits with 10 points for the Vikings, while
Sheridan Kennedy played well off the bench with eight points and eight rebounds.
The Vikings will next be in action on Wednesday when they host Martin Luther College for a 7:15 p.m. matchup.
