MANKATO, Minn. – It was a thrilling game that ultimately ended in defeat for the Vikings on Saturday afternoon. Bethany Lutheran's home opener against Luther College was an entertaining match-up, highlighted by a combined 22 three-pointers between the two teams. A last-second heave from the Norse at the buzzer sent the Vikings into halftime trailing by two.
Coming out of the break, the Vikings immediately hit a three to take a 46–45 lead. However, the momentum shifted quickly as Bethany went cold from the field and Luther responded with a 21–6 run. The Vikings battled back and cut the deficit to six with about three minutes remaining, but their comeback fell short as the Norse held on for an 86–74 victory.
