MANKATO, Minn. - Bethany women's basketball came up short Saturday in a 63-48 loss to Hamline, dropping to 2-9 overall.
The Vikings had a strong first quarter, shooting 46 percent from the field and held a 15-13 advantage after the opening 10 minutes, but the Pipers stormed back in the second frame with a 12-2 run to end the half up 34-24. Hamline added to its lead in the third quarter and cruised to a 15-point victory.
Turnovers proved to be costly for the Vikings as they gave up the ball 20 times which resulted in 18 points for the Pipers. Bethany was limited to 35.3 percent shooting while the visitors shot 40.7 percent.
Arinn McGee led the offense with 13 points and hauled in a team-high seven rebounds with three blocks. Morgan Hulke added 10 points off the bench.
Bethany breaks until Dec. 31 when it hosts St. Olaf.
