Dominic Santina Named Cross Country and Track and Field Coach

MANKATO, Minn.— Bethany Lutheran College announced on Friday that Dominic Santina has been named the next head men's and women's track and field and cross country coach.

Santina comes to Bethany after a three-year stint as the head cross country coach at Concordia University-Ann Arbor (CUAA) while also taking over the track and field program in 2024-25. During his tenure at CUAA, he helped five athletes to qualify in track and field to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championships, while also guiding the 2023 men's and 2024 women's cross country teams to NCCAA Championship appearances.

"We're really excited for Dominic and his family to join the Bethany community," said Co-Athletic Director Pat Garvin.

A 2019 graduate of Rochester Christian University (RCU), Santina holds a degree in mass communication and was a four-year member of the cross country and track and field teams at RCU. He was twice chosen a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Champion of Character while also being named to multiple conference scholar-athlete teams.

Garvin continued, "As an accomplished collegiate athlete himself, Dominic has the experience and drive to move our programs forward. We're looking forward to watching him make a positive impact on our student-athletes in the classroom and in their respective sport."

Santina's teams have also excelled in the classroom, including 61 WHAC scholar athletes and also 47 national level academic honorees in his three-plus seasons as head coach at CUAA.

"I want to thank the hiring committee and President Pfeifer for this opportunity to be the next head coach of Bethany Lutheran College Cross Country and Track and Field," said Santina. "I am honored, excited, and eager to get to work on building a program that represents what BLC is about and ensuring we bring glory to God in the process. With the excellent facilities and strong foundation established, I am looking forward to helping grow and develop successful Christian-centered student-athletes. I am also grateful for the opportunity I've had with my previous team and administration at Concordia Ann Arbor, and everything along the way, while preparing me to continue to coach at a great Lutheran college. Go Vikings!"
