MANKATO, Minn. - The Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team will head back to where they started their UMAC season for a conference semifinal matchup on Wednesday when they travel to Northwestern for a 7 p.m. matchup. After Bethany dropped their opening contest of the UMAC slate 68-61 to the Eagles on January 8th, they bounced back with a 79-74 win over UNW on February 12th.
The Series
Wednesday's game will mark the 44th all-time meeting between the teams with Northwestern holding a 31-12 advantage. Things have been more closesly contested of late though, as the Eagles hold just a 5-4 edge in the last five contests between the two teams.
Scouting the Vikings
Bethany has been one of the more well-rounded teams in the conference this season with nine different players totaling over 110 total points on the season. Gianna Klarenbeek leads the way as she averages 10.6 points which includes a 35.6 percent shooting clip from deep in UMAC contests. Juliana Ewald, Aubrea Kor, Lexiss Trygg, and Arinn McGee have also been steady contributors each averaging between 8.8 and 8.2 points in UMAC contests, with Trygg and McGee each shooting above 56.6 percent. After struggling as a team in the nonconference slate from long range and connecting on just 21.1 percent of attempts, the Vikings bumped that number up to 29.1 percent in conference matchups including shooting an impressive 44.7 percent in a pair of matchups against UNW.
Scouting the Eagles

All three have also been incredibly efficient on the offensive end, with Falk ranking first in the UMAC in qualifying field goal percentage with a mark of 47.0, while Sondrol and Hagen rank fifth and sixth. Northwestern is also the top shooting 3-point team in the UMAC, as they have made a conference best 218 and shoot a UMAC-high 33.4 percent.
