LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced their All-Region teams on Friday afternoon and the Bethany Lutheran softball team saw two selections in
Emily Meyer and
Emily Doyle. Meyer earned Second Team All-Region IX while Doyle was named Third Team. It's the first All-Region honor for Meyer while Doyle earns her second career nod.
All-Region Teams
Meyer continues to be one of the most accomplished pitchers not only in the region but in the nation as she currently boasts a 23-11 record and 2.12 ERA in 211.1 innings pitched. Her innings pitched are the most in NCAA Division III while her 226 strikeouts are the second most. She's also tossed 25 complete games on the season which is currently second nationally.
Doyle is hitting .369 on the season and her 22 extra base hits are the most on the team. She also has team-bests in RBI (34) walks (16), slugging percentage (.669), and on-base percentage (.444). Doyle's seven home runs are tied for the most on the team and also sit atop the leaderboard for most home runs in a single season in program history.
