PELLA, Iowa - Bethany women's basketball lost 68-58 at Central College on Saturday in its final non-conference game of the season, dropping to 3-10 overall.
The Vikings got off to a hot start by making their first five shots of the game for a 10-0 lead in the opening 2:30. The Dutch made their first bucket three minutes into the game on a three, which sparked a 16-2 run to end the first quarter with a 16-12 lead.
Bethany tied the game twice in the second quarter before regaining a 30-29 advantage on a Morgan Hulke three with 1:07 on the clock, but the Dutch ended the half with five straight points for a 34-30 advantage at the break.
The Vikings got within three points in the third quarter but the Dutch pulled away in the fourth for a 10-point victory.
Bethany shot 34.4 percent from the floor as Arinn McGee led with 14 points and five assists. Kenadi Arndt and Hulke each contributed 11 points, while Arndt added a team-high nine rebounds. Both teams pulled down 47 rebounds.
The Vikings begin UMAC play Wednesday evening at home against Northwestern-St. Paul.
