VIkings Wrap Up their Spring break Trip in the win column

CLERMONT, Fla. — The Vikings finished up their spring break Florida trip today splitting their last two contests. Overall, the Viking faired well down in sunny Florida winning 5 out of their 8 games.

Bethany Lutheran 4, Concordia University (Wis.) 7

The Bethany Lutheran College softball team dropped a 7–4 decision to Concordia University Wisconsin during spring break action on Wednesday.

Concordia Wisconsin struck early, scoring runs in the opening innings to build a lead over the Vikings. Bethany responded in the middle frames, putting together a rally that cut into the deficit and kept the game within reach.

The Vikings produced several hits throughout the contest and plated runs with timely hitting from the middle of the lineup. Bethany continued to pressure the Falcons' defense, but Concordia Wisconsin was able to answer with additional runs later in the game to maintain its advantage.

Despite the offensive push from Bethany, the Falcons held off the Vikings down the stretch to secure the 7–4 victory.

Bethany Lutheran 5, Illinois College 3

The Bethany Lutheran College softball team earned a 5–3 victory over Illinois College in their last game down south, as the Vikings used timely hitting and solid pitching to secure the win.

Bethany Lutheran struck first and maintained steady offensive pressure throughout the game. The Vikings produced key hits in the middle innings to build a lead and give their pitching staff breathing room. Illinois College responded with a pair of runs to keep the contest tight, but Bethany's defense limited further scoring opportunities.

The Vikings added an insurance run late to extend their advantage before closing out the game in the final inning. Illinois College threatened with a late push, but Bethany Lutheran's pitching staff shut the door to preserve the 5–3 victory.

With the win, the Vikings continued their early-season momentum and showed balance on both sides of the field, combining timely offense with strong defensive play.

The Vikings have some time off as they travel back to Mankato. Their next match up starts their UMAC Conference play in New Ulm against Martin Luther on March 20th.
