Baseball Outscores Maranatha Baptist 58-0 in Friday Doubleheader

MANKATO, Minn. - Bethany baseball outscored Maranatha Baptist University 58-0 in a non-conference doubleheader Friday at ISG Field, improving to 17-5 overall. The Vikings set four program records in game one with 38 runs, 30 RBI, 57 total bases, and 18 walks - all records that have stood since 2009. 

Fifteen different Vikings recorded a hit in game one, led by Jayden Knutson who batted 3-for-3 with a run, RBI, double, and three stolen bases. Carter Daly had six RBI, highlighted by a grand slam. 

Easton Pratt improved to 2-0 on the mound after five scoreless innings. He gave up four hits with eight strikeouts. Evan Maes and Davis Anderson each pitched one inning of scoreless relief. 

In game two, the Vikings collected 13 hits led by Jayden Kopp, Connor Brigger, and Ryne Griffin with two apiece. Jared Harry drove in five runs while Daly drew four walks. 

Caeden Willaert earned the win after four scoreless innings. He allowed just three hits with six strikeouts. Nathan Pisio tossed two scoreless innings of relief with four Ks, and Banjamin Hoehn closed out the final frame with two punch outs. 

Bethany and Maranatha Baptist close out the three-game series at noon tomorrow.
