WACONIA, Minn. - Bethany men's tennis improved to 9-4 overall and 1-0 in the UMAC with a 7-0 win at Crown on Friday, while the women lost 5-2, dropping to 3-12 overall and 0-1 in the league.
The Viking men started the match with a doubles sweep, winning 6-2, 6-3, and 6-1 from No. 1 to No. 3, respectively. All six single matches were won convincingly in straight sets. The Vikings didn't allow more than three points in any set from top to bottom.
The women were swept in doubles and earned two points at Nos. 1 and 2 singles from Sailor Mohlenbrock and Campbell Amundson.
The Bethany men next host Martin Luther on Tuesday while the women travel to UM-Morris on Sunday.
