MANKATO, Minn. - Bethany men's soccer earned its third straight shutout victory Saturday with a 3-0 decision over North Central, improving to 5-4-1 overall and 4-0-0 in the UMAC.
Emilio Barbajosa was the spark plug for the Vikings, scoring what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 25th minute. Barbajosa took a feed from Hugo Prag and rifled it into the top right corner of the net. The score remained 1-0 after the first 45 minutes.
In the 56th minute, Ted Tendaie connected with Barbajosa for the second goal and the final goal was scored four minutes later. Frederico Nobre ran his line up the left side, crossed to Tendaie, who made a one-touch pass to Martim Vilarhino who buried the goal.
The Vikings out-shot the Rams 16-4 overall and 10-2 on goal. Brady Price tallied his third consecutive shutout in goal with two saves, dropping his goals against average to 1.93.
Bethany travels to Superior, Wis. next Saturday to take on UW-Superior.
