McKayla Armbruster enters her second year on the Bethany coaching staff in 2026, where she also serves as a mental performance coach, bringing elite competitive experience and leadership to her athletes.
A standout pitcher from Faribault, Minnesota, Armbruster led Faribault High School to Big Nine, Section, and Minnesota State Championships. Her high school career included 63 wins, 909 strikeouts, a 0.90 ERA, 35 shutouts, six no-hitters, and three perfect games. She earned five All-Conference and All-Section honors, three First-Team All-State selections, and was named Ms. Minnesota Softball in 2019, as well as a MN Gatorade Player of the Year finalist.
Collegiately, Armbruster starred at Minnesota State, appearing in 132 games over five seasons. She compiled 68 wins, 545 strikeouts, and 15 shutouts, becoming the program’s co-leader in career saves while setting the school record for highest strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Her name appears multiple times throughout the Maverick record book in both season and career categories. In 2023, she led the NSIC in wins, strikeouts, and ERA, earning First-Team All-NSIC honors. The Mavericks made three NCAA Regional appearances and one Super Regional during her career, reaching as high as No. 7 nationally.
Known for her precision, competitive edge, and mental toughness, Armbruster now blends her elite playing background with her expertise in mental performance to develop confident, resilient, championship-level athletes.
