Kari Becker joined the Vikings coaching staff last year after finishing her career as a midfielder for NCAA DII powerhouse Minnesota State Mavericks.
She was a three-time Academic All-NSIC selection. Becker saw action in 39 games over her career. As a freshman, scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 win over nationally ranked Regis University.
During her four years as a Maverick, the team reached the #1 spot in the national rankings, posted an impressive 73-8-10 record, won three NSIC regular season championships, three postseason titles and went to the NCAA tournament all four years.
Becker grew up in Fort Dodge, Iowa and was a three-time letter winner in H.S. and All-Conference honoree. She graduated this past spring with her degree in education from Minnesota State-Mankato.
“We are so excited to have Coach Becker back this fall. Her experience as a player for one of the to DII programs in the country is something that you just can’t replicate. She knows what it takes for a team to compete at the highest level and with her age and personality, she is able to relate to our players extremely well.” – Head Coach Derick Lyngholm
