Bethany Lutheran College Athletics

John Olmanson enters his 11th year as the head coach of the Bethany Lutheran volleyball team in 2022. He is the winningest coach in program history in the NCAA Division III era.
 
In his time with the Vikings, Olmanson has coached five All-Conference players, and four were First-team selections. Bethany achieved its highest overall win total during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. The Vikings qualified for the UMAC postseason tournament in four of the last five seasons.
 
Olmanson brings with him a wealth of experience at the high school, club, and Junior Olympic levels. Before starting with Bethany, he was the head coach of Como Park High School where his team went 10-2 in conference matches in his last year. He is owner and director of SPIKE Performance Camps and has a variety of coaching certifications from USA Volleyball. He stays very active with youth athletics in the Midwest region through athletic associations, camps, and clinics.
 
Olmanson is also the BLC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Advisor. He resides in West St. Paul, Minnesota, with his wife and his two daughters, Emma and Olivia. He is a native of Nicollet, Minn. and his father is a Bethany alumnus.
