Box Score
St. Paul, Minn. - Viking Volleyball traveled to Northwestern tonight to play them for the second time this season. It was a closer match than the previous meeting, and although Bethany Lutheran played a better game, the Vikings still lost in three sets.
The Vikings had trouble getting the ball down for a kill during the game, and Northwestern played a little bit of a faster paced game than the Vikings were prepared for.
Game one was won 25-17 by Northwestern. Bethany did well digging up the ball, but were unable to finish the rallies in their favor.
Game two was also won by Northwestern 25-18. The last game was closer as the team started running quicker hits to make faster paced plays to keep up with the speed of Northwestern, but still fell short, losing 25-20.
The Vikings played a tough defensive game. Marcie Flygare (Winthrop, Minn./Minnesota Valley) led the team with 11 digs, and Vanessa Harkins (LeCenter, Minn./LeCenter) had eight.
The team will be on the road once again Friday night heading to Crown, game time is set for 7 p.m.
