Men's soccer gets important win over Crown

Box Score

Mankato, Minn. - The Bethany men's soccer team beat Crown on Friday by a comfortable 3-0. Before the game, the Storm and Vikings were separated by just a point in the UMAC standings.

Goals were made by Viking's lead-scorers Joe Nuah (St. Paul, Minnn./Arlington), CK Pock (Faribault, Minn./Faribault), and Evans Tackie-Yarboi (West Jordan, Utah/Cooper Hills). Nuah found the back of the net in the first half off of a throw in. Pock’s goal in the second half was assisted by Nuah, and Tackie-Yarboi’s was unassisted in the 73rd minute.

The Vikings out-shot the Storms 13-12. Senior keeper Cameron Koopman (Phelps, Wis./Phelps) was forced to make seven saves for Bethany.

The boys will play Northwestern at noon on Saturday and are hoping that home-field advantage will help them get the win this time.
