Tennis has hard time agaisnt the undefeated Saints

Duluth, Minn. – Bethany Lutheran had a hard time against the St. Scholastica Saints as they traveled to Duluth last weekend. The Saints remain undefeated in the UMAC as both the Viking men’s and women’s tennis teams lost 0-9.

 

Randy Zavala (Worthington, Minn./Worthington) managed to score two points in the last set against his opponent, as did Peter Londgren (Charlevoix, Mich./Charlevoix). Nicholas Croy (Tacoma, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran ) also was able to get on the board in the last set.

 

The men only had a little more luck in the doubles competition. Peter Vue (Minneapolis, Minn./Cooper) and Aaron Wiechmann led the Vikings falling 8-2.

 

For the women Rebecca Nuemann (Hartland, Wis./Luther Prep) matched-up with her opponent a little better than most falling 7-5, 6-3. Brooke Osmundson (Delavan, Minn./Maple River) also put up a fight falling 6-2, 6-4.

 

In the doubles, the team of Osmundson and Sarah Wagner (Elbow Lake, Minn./West Central Area Secondary) had the best showing going down 8-3.

 

The Vikings will play North Central at the Mankato Indoor Tennis Center on April 19 starting at 2 p.m.
