Mankato, Minn.—Bethany softball took on St. Scholastica for the last time in the regular season at Caswell Park during the UMAC Crossover. St. Scholastica went home with the win, leaving the Vikings at 17-18 for the season and 12-9 conference.
Emily Rauchman (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) was the starting pitcher. In the top of the third, sophomore Kourtney Petersen (Waseca, Minn./Waseca) singled to left field and then stole second. St. Scholastica lit on fire during the bottom half, bringing home six runs, including two unearned. Relief pitcher Kyla Schapekahm (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) went in for Rauchman, who went to right field. The Vikings rallied in the fourth inning, holding St. Scholastica to only one more run.
The Vikings last game of the regular season will be Tuesday, May 3rd, at 3 p.m. in Mankato against North Central.
