Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Ashland, Wis. – The Viking men’s soccer team split the weekend’s Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) road games falling to St. Scholastica 0-7, then coming back to defeat Northland 5-0.

Against the Saints, Noah Heidorn (Fergus Falls, Minn. / Fergus Falls) played keeper allowing seven goals to slip past him. Heidron also saved seven goals. St. Scholastica’s quick offense wore down Bethany. The Saints had 28 shots while the Vikings had four.

A day later Bethany traveled to Northland to finish the weekend road trip. The Vikings found their grove instantly scoring three goals in the first half. Julio Garcia (Arlington, Minn. / Sibley East) found the back of the net at the 5:11 mark assisted by Ryan Behemer (Maple Grove, Minn. / West Lutheran). Behmer was credited with another assist at the 8:04 mark when Joseph Perez (Colorado Springs, Colo. / Fountain Ft. Carson) scored. Perez scored again thirty minutes into the game, this time assisted by Jason Buechler (Kasson, Minn. / Kasson-Mantorville).

In the second half both of the remaining goals were scored by freshman Benjamin Moldstad (North Mankato, Minn. / Minnesota Valley Lutheran). His first goal was assisted by Hayden Hough (Colorado Springs, Colo. / Fountain Ft. Carson), the second unassisted. Bethany outshot Northland 25 to nine.

Bethany is 4-7 overall and 3-3 in the UMAC. Next, the Vikings will take on St. Olaf at 7 p.m. in a non-conference game at home on October 2nd.
