On the road volleyball defeats Crown, falls to MN-Morris

The volleyball team split Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) games on the road. BLC traveled to Crown taking the Storm in three sets, then fell to Minnesota-Morris in three sets the next day.
 
Bethany defeated Crown 25-16, 25-21, and 25-21. Shelby Wiederhoeft (Truman, Minn. / Truman) had an outstanding night recording 16 kills with just one error. She had a .600 attack percentage. Caitlin Decker (Ramsey, Minn. / Anoka), Allie VanHee (Madelia, Minn. / Madelia) and Emilie James (Aurora, Colo. / Rocky Mountain Lutheran) each had five kills.
 
Jessi Jurries (Trimont, Minn. / Martin County West) led the team defensively with 12 digs. Kasslin Swenson (Nicollet, Minn. / Nicollet) had 10 digs of her own. Swenson led the team in service aces with two.
 
Emily Franzen (Lewiston, Minn. / Lewiston-Altura) had 25 assists to lead the team in the setter position. VanHee had 11 set assists. Franzen also contributed eight digs.
 
In the match against MN-Morris the Vikings fell 25-17, 25-13 and 25-16. Decker led offensively with seven kills, Wiederhoeft had six. Swenson and James each had four kills.
 
Franzen had 21 of the 23 assists the team had. Jurries had 13 digs while Swenson had 12.
 
Bethany laid down 25 kills while their opponents had 49.
 
Next, the Vikings will travel to Martin Luther for a 7 p.m. match on October 24th. Bethany is 5-20 overall and 4-7 in the conference.
