Mankato, Minn. – The Bethany softball team got one game of a doubleheader completed defeating Carleton 5-4 and then canceling the second game due to weather.
The Vikings and Knights were tied until the bottom of the sixth when Jessie Jurries (Trimont, Minn./Martin Country West) hit a single down the left field line for the winning RBI. Jurries went two for two on the day. Courtney Hallahan (Hutchinson, Minn./Holy Family Catholic), Emily Rauchman (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) and Rebecca Ludewig (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) each had a double.
Amanda Edmison (Mayer, Minn./Watertown-Mayer) was credited with the win recording her second victory of the season. She pitched a complete game allowing four runs on six hits while striking out three batters.
Bethany scored five runs on seven hits and left five on base while remaining clean in the field. Carlton left nine runners on base and committed two errors in the field.
The next game for the Vikings will be Tuesday, March 27th at Macalester. The doubleheader will start at 4 p.m.
