St. Paul, Minn. – The Vikings were swept by Macalester falling 1-2 and then 0-9 in the doubleheader.
Game 1 (L 1-2)
Amanda Edmison (Mayer, Minn./Watertown-Mayer) pitched a complete game giving up five hits and two runs, only one of which was earned. She struck out one batter and walked two.
Cortney Hallahan (Hutchinson, Minn./Holy Family Catholic) led the team with two hits in four at bats. Gena Chester (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) was one for four hitting a double. Kelsey Pekarna (Jordan, Minn./Jordan), Emily Rauchman (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West), Dani Christie (Hutchinson, Minn./Hutchinson) and Rebecca Ludewig (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) also each had a hit.
The Vikings recorded seven hits and three errors in the field. Bethany left 10 on base while Macalester left six. The Scots had five hits and three errors in the field.
Game 2 (L 0-9)
Macalester was feeling the grove at the plate in the second game. For BLC Rauchman took the mound allowing nine runs on 11 hits. Rauchman recorded five walks while striking out two batters.
The Vikings managed only two hits in the game, one from Edmison and one from Ludewig.
Bethany was clean in the field and left four on base. Macalester had one error and left eight on base.
Coming up next, the Vikings will travel to take on St. Catherine's in a doubleheader on Thursday, March 29th at 4 p.m.
