Men's soccer defeats Crown 4-2

Box Score

Mankato, Minn. – The men’s soccer team traveled to Crown for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) match-up with the Storm. The Vikings came away with a 4-2 victory.

The score remained tied at zero at halftime. The Vikings pulled together to start the second scoring three goals in a span of five minutes. Freshman Benjamin Moldstad (North Mankato, Minn. / Minnesota Valley Lutheran) scored the first two goals for the Vikings. The first came at the 46:26 mark assisted by Jason Buechler (Kasson, Minn. / Kasson-Mantorville), the second goal came at the 48:04 mark assisted by Michael Loguercio (Tavernier, Fla. / Coral Shores). Loguercio then got a goal of his own two minutes later assisted by Joseph Perez (Colorado Springs, Colo. / Fountain Ft. Carson). Reagan Tisbangu (D. Republic of Congo / St. Croix Lutheran) scored his first goal of the season unassisted at the 71:19 mark.

With 15 minutes remaining in the game Crown scored their first goal. The Storm scored again with six minutes left to go, but the onslaught of goals from the Vikings earlier in the half was too much to overcome.

Noah Heidorn (Fergus Falls, Minn. / Fergus Falls) was in between the pipes for the Vikings all 90 minutes. He was credited with six saves. Crown outshot the Vikings 20-19. Each team had three corner kicks.

The Vikings are now 3-4 overall and 2-1 in the UMAC. Bethany will host Minnesota-Morris on Saturday, September 22nd at 2:30 p.m. in another conference match-up.
