Mankato, Minn. – The Viking volleyball squad fell to Minnesota-Morris in the second conference game of the season. BLC dropped the match in three sets.
The Cougars had 41 kills compared to Bethany’s 24. BLC also committed 22 errors while the Cougars remained steady only committing 11. Set scores were 25-15, 25-18 and 25-11.
Shelby Wiederhoeft (Truman, Minn./Truman) led offensively for the Vikings with 10 kills. Amanna Berthusen (Marshalltown, Iowa / Marshalltown) put down six kills. Allie VanHee (Madelia, Minn. / Madelia) led the team in set assists with 12. Emily Franzen (Lewiston, Minn. / Lewiston-Altura) had 10. Defensively VanHee led the team in digs with seven. Libero Jessi Jurries (Trimont, Minn. / Martin County West) had six.
Next, the Vikings will take on Hamline at 7 p.m. in a non-conference game on September 25th at home. BLC has already played Hamline once this year, in that game the Vikes fell in three sets 25-14, 25-16 and 25-19. Bethany is now 2-13 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
