Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - The Bethany Lutheran College Vikings faced UMAC leader University of Minnesota-Morris Cougars in a volleyball showdown Friday, with the Vikings looking to get their first back to back match wins of the season. The Vikings were unable to do so, however, and were swept 3-0 by the Cougars.
Minnesota-Morris came out of the gates fired up and took care of Bethany quickly with a 25-12 first set win. The Vikings came back strong, however, narrowly losing the second set 25-23. They battled hard through the third set as well before falling 25-18 to be swept three games to none to the Cougars.
Junior
Emily Franzen and
Miranda Krenske had 11 and 10 assists, respectively.
Amanna Berthusen led BLC with eight kills and
Jessi Jurries had 13 digs.
The Vikings play the second of their five game home stretch at 1 pm Saturday against Crown College.
