Vikings win season finale

Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - The Bethany Lutheran Vikings volleyball team entered the final match of the year against the Northland Lumberjills looking to end on a high note. They did just that Saturday sweeping the Lumberjills three set wins to none.

The first set was dominated from start to finish by the Vikings as they had 20 team kills on their way to a 25-8 set win. Northland fought back in the second set with a team match high ten kills, but BLC was able to hold off their charge and win 25-17. The third set was more of the same, as the Vikings cruised to a 25-10 set win, clinching the 3-0 match win. Junior Caitlin Decker and freshman Kristen Mielke had 11 and ten kills respectively for Bethany and junior Jessi Jurries added ten digs to the Viking effort.

The Vikings finish the regular season with a 7-20 record overall and a 6-8 UMAC mark, good for fifth place in the conference.
