The Vikings scored two in the seventh and Nicole Starkson pitched a three-hitter as the Vikings head back to Minnesota on a high note beating St. Joseph's College of Maine 3-1.

Against St. Joseph's, Bethany actually got on the board first when Amanna Berthusen drove home Gena Chester, who had walked, with an RBI single to third in the first inning.

St. Joseph's tied the game at one in the third and it would remain that way until the seventh.

Starkson got their patented late-inning rally started with a one-out double to center. Pekarna then added a double of her own down the left field line to plate Starkson. Two batters later, Angela Timm drove in Pekarna with an RBI single to left.

Starkson retired the side in the seventh to preserve the 3-1 win. She struck out nine in the complete game win to move her record to 4-2 and dropped her ERA to 1.88.

Bethany finishes their foray in Florida with an even 4-4 record and are now 6-6 overall. They are scheduled to take on Finlandia and Presentation next Friday and Saturday in Mankato, weather permitting.
