Another tough day at the Irish Sports Dome

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Rosemount, Minn. - Sunday was a rough day for the Bethany softball squad as they dropped two games at the Irish Sports Dome in Rosemount. They were back at the dome on Monday to complete their triangular with Finlandia University and Presentation College. Unfortunately for the Vikings, the outcomes were the same as Sunday as they dropped all four games over the two days.

The long ball was the story in Bethany's first game of the day against Finlandia as the Lions nailed four home runs off starting pitcher Shannon Heitz en route to a 12-2 win.

Bethany picked up seven hits in the game with Aimee Wiechmann and Kelsey Pekarna each getting a pair of base knocks.

Game two of the day against Presentation was tied at 2 after five innings before the Saints scored six runs over the final two frames to win 8-2.

Nicole Starkson and Gena Chester each had run-scoring extra base hits in the fourth and fifth innings respectively to even the score at two.

Starkson struck out nine over seven innings, but did give up eight runs (4 earned) on nine hits.

Bethany's record drops to 6-10. The scheduled home games with Waldorf College for Wednesday have been postponed.
