Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - A few weeks earlier, the Bethany volleyball squad defeated Crown in straight sets on their home court. Friday night, different venue, same story, as the Vikings top Crown again in straights 25-9, 25-16, 25-15.
Emily Franzen led the way collecting double figure stats in two categories: assists (25) and digs (11).
Jessi Jurries led with 13 digs while
Amanna Berthusen had 13 kills.
Bethany was clicking early on as they raced out to a 13-2 lead in the first set with
Brooke Hagen getting back-to-back service aces in that stretch.
The second set was tighter with the squads splitting the first eight points before Bethany went on another spurt collecting 13 of the next 16 points to take control of the set.
The Vikings pulled away again in the third set after another close start to complete the sweep.
Bethany (5-12, 4-4 in UMAC) hosts a triangular on Saturday with Minn.-Morris and Buena Vista starting at 1 p.m.
