Box Score 2 ST. PAUL - A day after beating North Central, the Bethany volleyball team made their way back up to the cities for a triangular with host Northwestern and Macalester. The Vikings fell to the Eagles 3-0 and to the Scots 3-1.
Bethany knew they were going to have their hands full against a Northwestern squad that came in undefeated in conference play. The Eagles showed their a UMAC title contender with a 25-14, 25-10, 25-17 victory.
Emily Franzen reached double digits in both assists (17) and digs (11).
Jessi Jurries had 17 digs and
Amanna Berthusen led with eight kills.
Later, Bethany faced Macalester for the second time this season. The Scots swept the Vikings in the St. Olaf Tournament in the season's opening weekend and they would defeat Bethany again on Saturday this time in four sets 25-14, 25-15, 16-25, 25-20.
Three Bethany players had double figures in kills: Jurries (23), Franzen (12), and
Steph Koepp (10). Franzen added 18 assists and
Caitlin Decker had ten kills.
Bethany is at home for their next match, Wednesday against Martin Luther at 7 p.m.
