Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - Freshman goalkeeper
Matt Bitter did something that had not been done in four seasons for the Bethany men's soccer program - record shutouts in back-to-back days.
A day after defeating North Central 2-0, Bitter saved four more shots on Saturday to help the Vikings earn a scoreless tie against Northwestern.
It's the first time Bethany has shutout two straight opponents since October 20 and 26, 2012. The last time this feat was done in back-to-back days was October 29-30, 2010.
Northwestern did out-shoot the Vikings 20-3 on the day with a four to two edge in shots on goal, but Bitter did all he could do to keep Bethany in the game.
Bethany (2-7-2, 2-2-2 in UMAC) next plays Thursday at Crown.
