MANKATO, Minn. - Bethany men's soccer earned its first win of the season Saturday morning with a 4-1 triumph over Wisconsin Lutheran, improving to 1-1-1 overall.
Pedro Henrique connected with Ted Tendaie for a goal just 77 seconds into the game, giving the Vikings the early momentum. In the 16th minute, Guilherme Gancho sent a corner kick to the back post where Jackson Mottl headed it in for a 2-0 lead, which stood through halftime.
Emilio Barbajosa assisted on Hugo Prag's first career goal in the 75th minute before the Warriors ended the shutout in the 78th minute with a penalty kick goal following a handball.
Kelvin Hanson scored the final goal of the game in the 83rd minute with the help of Rodrigo Cardoso forcing a turnover at midfield.
Wisconsin Lutheran outshot BLC 17-11 but the Vikings had the advantage on goal 8-4. Brady Price made three saves in 74:47, while David Kahambwe allowed the PK in the final 15:13.
Bethany is back at home Sunday against Dubuque.
