Box Score 2 MANKATO, Minn. - The Vikings came into Friday's games against the Northwestern Eagles with a wave of momentum and a four game winning streak. The Eagles came in undeterred, however, and ended the streak with 6-0 and 6-5 wins over the Vikings.
Game one was all Eagles as they got out to an early 1-0 lead in the third inning. After trailing 2-0 going into the seventh inning, the Vikings gave up four more runs in the top half of the inning to lose 6-0.
Nicole Starkson pitched six strong innings, had six strikeouts while only giving up two runs.
Game two was a back and forth battle between the two teams, with the Vikings holding a 4-1 lead after two innings before the Eagles took a 5-4 lead after four. In the bottom of the fifth inning, junior

Rebecca Ludewig on an RBI single to tie the game at five runs apiece. However, the Eagles were able to score another run in the seventh inning to win the game 6-5. Bethany senior centerfielder
Gena Chester had two hits as well as an RBI for the Vikings in the game.
The Vikings next games will be against University of Minnesota-Morris and Crown College on Tuesday at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Caswell Park in North Mankato as part of the UMAC Crossover along with Martin Luther College.
