Box Score 2 NEW ULM, Minn. - After two weeks off and an extra day due to a postponement, the Bethany softball team was back on the diamond as they faced Martin Luther for a doubleheader. The Vikings were in both games late, but the Knights pulled away in both games to sweep the twin bill.
In the first game, BLC trailed 6-0 before tying the game with a six-run rally in the sixth.
Amanna Berthusen delivered the first run-producing hit of the frame with a single to center scoring
Nicole Starkson. After two unearned runs came across,
Gena Chester hit a 2-RBI single to right that plated
Adria Dahlke and
Allison Songstad. Chester advanced to third on an
Aimie Wiechmann single and later scored on the play following an error to knot the game.
Martin Luther countered Bethany's big inning by putting up five runs in their half of the frame and came away with an 11-6 win. Starkson and
Allison Norton each had a pair of hits.
