Box Score 2 VADNAIS HEIGHTS, Minn. - After getting a pair of wins on Friday on day one of the UMAC crossover, the Bethany softball team was back at it Saturday in Vadnais Heights for the second day, but the results weren't the same as the Vikings lost to both Northland and St. Scholastica.
The Vikings fell behind early against Northland trailing 5-0 after two innings. They started a comeback attempt in the third.
Allison Norton singled to lead off the frame and later scored on an RBI from
Gena Chester. Bethany scored two more in the fifth to cut the deficit to 5-3 when
Becca Ludewig knocked in a pair with a double to left that scored
Aimie Wiechmann and
Nicole Starkson.
The Lumberjills extended their lead though with a run in the sixth and three more in the seventh to give the Vikings a 9-3 setback.
Later against St. Scholastica, the Saints scored 12 times in the second en route to a 14-1 win in five innings. Bethany's run came in the third when Wiechmann doubled to right center to score Chester.
Bethany (3-17, 2-3 in UMAC) next plays a doubleheader Tuesday at Crown.
