Box Score 2 NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Bethany volleyball squad had a productive start to the 2014 season Friday at the St. Olaf/Northfield Invite splitting two matches against MIAC opponents.
The Vikings won a five-setter in the opener against St. Olaf 15-12 in the fifth set before falling to Carleton in the nightcap.
Against the Oles,
Kristen Mielke and
Amanna Berthusen led the way with eight kills a piece. Newcomer
Brooke Hagen had 23 set assists to go with five digs. Seniors
Jessi Jurries and
Emily Franzen added 15 and 13 digs, respectively.
Bethany fell to Carleton in straight sets.
The Vikings continue play Saturday in Northfield first against Macalester at 10 a.m. followed by a 2 p.m. match with Waldorf.
