Box Score Volleyball Sweeps Crown

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The Vikings volleyball team continued their conference season on Tuesday night when they traveled to Crown College to take on the Storm. In the previous two meetings this season, the Vikings have defeated the Storm. Tuesday was a similar result as Bethany defeated Crown in three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-20, 25-21.

The Vikings are now 5-17, 2-4 on the season with the victory over the Storm. On the night,
Kristen Mielke (New Germany, Minn./Mayer Lutheran) and
Shelby Sicheneder (Watertown, Minn./Mayer Lutheran) led the Vikings offense with ten and eight kills each.
Alannah Menk (St. Cloud, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice) and
Meagan Sons (Green Isle, Minn./Central) added seven kills apiece.
Jasmine Carlson (Windom, Minn.) finished the match against Crown with 23 set assists.

Defensively,
Jessica Grimsley (Waconia, Minn./Mayer Lutheran) recorded 17 digs to lead all Vikings while
Sicheneder and
Carlson followed with nine digs, respectively.

Overall, Bethany finished the night with 39 kills, 10 aces, 4 blocks, 38 assists, and 58 digs to take the match in three sets against the Storm.

Next on the schedule for the volleyball team is Wis.-Superior on Saturday, October 24. The match is set for a 3 p.m. start.
