Box Score Late Goal Leads Men's Soccer to Victory

MANKATO, Minn. – The men's soccer team continued UMAC play on Saturday afternoon against the Lumberjacks from Northland. The Vikings entered play in a must win situation to keep their postseason hopes live. The Vikings defeated the Lumberjacks by a final score of 1-0.

Bethany (5-11-3, 4-4-2) and Northland (1-14-2, 0-7-2) played the first 45 minutes of the contest without either team finding the back of the net. The first goal of the game came with two minutes left in regulation when
Mike Loguercio (Tavernier, Fla./Coral Shores) scored the game-winning goal to lead the Vikings to a 1-0 victory over the Lumberjacks. The starting goalkeeper for the Vikings on the afternoon was

With the win against Northland and Northwestern losing to Superior the men's soccer team is in the playoffs as the 5th seed. They will play North Central in the 4th and 5th place playoff game at North Central on Monday, November 2nd.Â
The final regular season game for the men's soccer team will be Tuesday vs. North Central at home starting at 7 p.m.
